War & Historical Fiction

From the Zulu Wars, to the French Revolution, to World War 2

CAFE LE GUILOTINE

Publisher: Rob Jackson, Pages: 24, Format: A4 Coour Cover

A very different approach to telling the story of the French revoution. Obviously well researched, but containing some very amusing viewpoints and very english dialogue. Those who are already familiar with rob's work will know what to expect, but will be surprised by this unusual subject matter. However Rob's past work is also singular in style and conception so readers can at least be sure of that.

WALKING WOUNDED

Publisher: Chris Denton, Pages: 32, Format: A4 B/W

From the pages of the legendary war comic, Massacre For Boys, comes a collection of adventures featuring its most famous heroes- The Walking Wounded. This platoon of technically unfit, but in fact awsome super-commandoes, led by Captain William "Dog" Tired, terrorized the Nazis in print from 1951 - 1983. Allegedly. Included in this brand new collection is the complete 4-part epic "The Resistance that Went Mad", which sees the Wounde take on the combined might of Nazi troopers and insane pigeon hating revoutionaries in occupied France.

ZULU: WATER CART RESCUE

Creator: Colin Mathieson, Pages: 32, Format: US Colour Cover

What a breath of fresh air!!

A comic that tells a story about characters and events, that although fictional, have a realistic impact due to the historical setting. Colin writes with an almost lost technique that makes you long to go back to a simpler time and place. Before violence for the sake of violence was common place, before plotting was an uneccessary chore no one bothered with, and when comic artists so obviously loved what they were doing. This comic has been a huge success with war history buffs outside of the usual comics realm, and has now gone to a second printing.

Suitable for all ages
